Terms of Use

Effective October 25, 2026

These terms of use (the "Terms") set out the legal framework under which marqueplace.com makes the site and its services available, and define the conditions under which "the User" may access and use those services. These Terms can be found on the site under "Terms".

Any User who wishes to access the site must accept these Terms. They form the contract between the site and the User. By accessing the site, the User accepts these Terms and agrees to comply with them.

A User who does not accept these Terms must refrain from accessing the services offered by the site. marqueplace.com reserves the right to change the content of these Terms unilaterally and at any time.

These Terms are a translation of the French "Conditions générales d'utilisation", provided for convenience. In the event of any discrepancy between the two, the French version prevails.

ARTICLE 1: Legal notice

The site marqueplace.com is published by French Cactus SL, a company registered in Spain under CIF B16917700, whose registered office is at Calle Molinell nº 6, 46010 Valencia, Spain, admin@marqueplace.com.

The Publication Director is Guillaume Sempé.

The site marqueplace.com is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, United States, telephone: +1 888 993 5273.

ARTICLE 2: Access to the site

The site marqueplace.com gives the User free access to the following services:

  • Creating place cards online, to print yourself.

The site is available free of charge, anywhere, to any User with internet access. All costs incurred by the User to access the service (computer equipment, software, internet connection, etc.) are borne by the User.

marqueplace.com shall not be liable for any event of force majeure causing the site or server to malfunction, nor for any interruption or change due to maintenance. In such cases, the User agrees not to hold the publisher responsible for any interruption or suspension of the service, even without notice. The User may contact the site by email at the publisher's address given in ARTICLE 1.

ARTICLE 3: Personal data

To create your place cards, the site stores:

  • your email address;
  • the guest and table names you enter;
  • your layout choices (design, fonts, colors, sizes);
  • the image you upload, if you create your place cards with your own image;
  • the PDFs generated from this information.

This data is used only to generate your place cards, to email you the link to your project and to prevent abuse (the number of projects per email address and per day). It is neither sold nor used for advertising. It is processed on the basis of providing the service you request and, for the prevention of abuse, on the basis of the publisher's legitimate interest.

Your IP address is used at the time of your request to limit the number of generations per minute; it is not stored with your project.

Anyone who has the link to a project can access it: share it only with people you trust.

Uploaded images

If you create your place cards with your own image, only the part you have framed is sent, at the size of the front of the card (1400 × 800 pixels). It is stored with your project and used only to generate your PDFs: it is never published on the site, shown to other visitors or used for any other purpose. Like your PDFs, it can be seen by anyone who has the link to your project.

You must have the right to use the image you upload: you must be its author or have its author's permission, and have the permission of any identifiable people who appear in it. You are responsible for its content. The publisher may delete a project whose image is clearly unlawful.

Retention period

A project, with its data, the uploaded image and its PDFs, is deleted automatically one year (365 days) after it was created. The counters used to prevent abuse are erased after 7 days, and the host's technical logs after a few days.

Service providers

The data is processed on the publisher's behalf by the following service providers:

  • Cloudflare, Inc. (United States): hosting of the site, the database, uploaded images and PDFs, stored in the European Union, and bot protection (Turnstile);
  • Postmark (ActiveCampaign, LLC, United States): sending the email with the link to your project; it receives your email address and that link;
  • Plausible Analytics (Plausible Insights OÜ, Estonia): audience measurement without cookies and without personal data;
  • Rollbar, Inc. (United States): reporting of the site's technical errors; it receives a description of the error, the browser type and a truncated IP address, but neither your email address nor your guests' names.

Where data is processed outside the European Union, the transfer is governed by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. To exercise these rights, write to admin@marqueplace.com, giving the email address you used and, if possible, the link to your project. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority (www.cnil.fr).

ARTICLE 4: Intellectual property

The trademarks, logos and signs, as well as all content on the site (text, images, sound, etc.), are protected by the French Intellectual Property Code, and in particular by copyright.

The User must obtain the site's prior permission for any reproduction, publication or copy of its content. The User agrees to use the site's content for strictly private purposes only; any commercial or advertising use is strictly prohibited.

You keep the rights to the images you upload. You only authorize the publisher to store them and reproduce them in your PDFs, for as long as your project is kept.

The fonts offered for your place cards belong to their authors. They are used under their licenses and are not covered by the protection claimed above. These include:

  • Apollo ASM, © 2010 Peter Wiegel, under the SIL Open Font License 1.1;
  • Griffy, © 2012 Font Diner (fontdiner.com), under the SIL Open Font License 1.1;
  • Kabala, © Association for Insight Meditation (softerviews.org), under a GNU license; its color glyphs have been removed;
  • Keyes, by Rachel Tiffany, in the public domain or under the GPL or the SIL Open Font License; its dashes have been replaced with a hyphen;
  • LanaPixel, © 2020-2023 eishiya, under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license; reduced to its Latin characters;
  • Tom Thumb, by "Lord Nightmare" (FontStruct), under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 license; its curly quotes and dashes have been replaced with their straight equivalents, and its internal size has been corrected.

The modified versions of these fonts used by the site are available on request from admin@marqueplace.com, under the same licenses.

Any reproduction or representation of this site, in whole or in part, by any means, without the express permission of the site's operator, constitutes infringement punishable under Articles L335-2 et seq. of the French Intellectual Property Code.

In accordance with Article L122-5 of the French Intellectual Property Code, a User who reproduces, copies or publishes protected content must credit its author and source.

ARTICLE 5: Liability

The sources of the information published on marqueplace.com are deemed reliable, but the site does not guarantee that it is free of defects, errors or omissions. The information provided is for general guidance only and has no contractual value. Despite regular updates, marqueplace.com cannot be held liable for changes to administrative and legal provisions made after publication. Likewise, the site cannot be held liable for the use and interpretation of the information it contains.

marqueplace.com cannot be held liable for any viruses that may infect the computer or any other equipment of the internet user following the use of, access to, or downloads from this site.

The site cannot be held liable in the event of force majeure or the unforeseeable and insurmountable act of a third party.

ARTICLE 6: Links

The site may contain links to other sites. The User is informed that by clicking on these links, they will leave marqueplace.com. marqueplace.com has no control over the web pages these links lead to and cannot, under any circumstances, be held responsible for their content.

ARTICLE 7: Cookies and browser storage

The site uses no advertising or tracking cookies. Audience measurement (Plausible) works without cookies.

For the service to work, the site stores in your browser:

  • a "project" cookie, for 7 days, which remembers the project you are creating;
  • your guest list, in the browser's local storage, so you don't have to enter it again;
  • the technical information needed for Cloudflare's bot protection (Turnstile).

These are necessary for the service and are not used to track you. You can delete them at any time in your browser settings; you will then have to enter your guest list again.

ARTICLE 8: Governing law and jurisdiction

This contract is governed by French law. If a dispute between the parties cannot be resolved amicably, the French courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

For any question about the application of these Terms, you can contact the publisher using the details given in ARTICLE 1.
